Presented at IEEE ICFSP 2026
a note from Toulouse
On 10 June 2026, Entreacte was presented at the 11th International Conference on Frontiers of Signal Processing (IEEE ICFSP 2026), held jointly with IPAI 2026 in Toulouse, France — the event we previewed here earlier this year. This is a short note to close that loop.
What was presented
The paper introduces the interval-first method at the core of Entreacte: treating the space between characters — the junction, the interval — as the primary computational object, rather than the characters themselves. The presentation walked through the method's foundations, the live pipeline at entreacte.net, and the patent position (USPTO US 2026/0134706 A1, published; EP 25 214 682.4, under examination at the EPO).
The level of the presentations across the sessions was consistently high, and with work spanning signal processing, image processing, and AI across the joint sessions, cross-pollination of ideas was assured.

One note on reading it. The paper states the interval-first method and its conceptual grounding; the figures it reports for pixel reduction, memory and speed describe the shape of the approach rather than results from a controlled benchmark with a declared measurement law. The measured work is the programme described below, where the judge is frozen before the run — and when those numbers are published here they will be published with the ruler they were measured against.
